I wanted to try a new technique with my new wide-angle lens.  I set a very long shutter speed at night.  It's amazing how much light the camera was still able to find.  I can't wait to try on a warmer night.

Today everyone came back to Manhattan. First of many dinners with the crew. Glad to be back, even if we have to eat at Locke's.

Unfortunately, I had to work on an extremely COLD Sunday so no pics outside.  Instead...something from work.

Forthysia:
Took pictures on the way home from the city.  Cool result thru the tinted windshield.

Ampersand:
View from my window in the city. Ah, feels like home.

Well I will admit that Forthysia is a bit better are keeping up with this.  Here is a make-up from not posting yesterday.  This is the scene from the train down to the city. The ride was amazingly beautiful and I actually got a seat this time!

Ampersand heads back to college tomorrow.  I am really going to miss her but I can't wait to see her daily pictures from NYC.

Late again. When waking up to a dreary, snowy day like this, all you can do is sit back and enjoy good music while taking in the snow's brilliance.

Tonight (well, this afternoon), there was a gorgeous winter moon.

We got a gorgeous new TV stand.  Love it.  Went back and got the matching tall bookcase.

Forthysia:
Great day with family.  After a long wait for the fire alarm, we watched a great basketball game. Go Clarkson.

Ampersand:
And then Mandy said, "Let the wine be multi-colored."

Ampersand:
Look around the house.  There is true beauty everywhere you look.

Friday night decisions!  I pick the wine.

Okay, so I'm a bit late for Thursday's entry.  But better late than never, right?  I guess we both had ideas of glass yesterday.  Like mother, like daughter.

Forthysia:
I love this hand blown glass ornament and keep it out all year.  Goes beautifully with all the blue in our house.

Forthysia:
Worked from home on a very snowy day.  Took advantage of being home in the daylight to practice taking photos in daylight.

Ampersand:

Cold house. Huddling by candle light may be a necessity.

Looking for inspiration at 8:45pm after working all day is tough!

I'm stealing my daughter's topic today.  She has been practicing all day and it sounds great. 

Ampersand:
After cleaning my room, a casual look out my window just shows me how great the day was.

Forthysia:
Sunday evening...trying a new recipe.  Baked Scallops.  It was delicious.  Of course, anything with enough garlic is delicious.

Ampersand:
With the snow stopped, it is time to explore the wonder of our own backyard.

Delicious Dinner.  Guess Where?

Another walk in the park.  It's only January and the water is already starting to flow again.

Ampersand:
At home and a bit bored.  Nothing else to do but break out the art supplies! This is a start of a creation I am making.  Lets just see if it turns out anything like how I see it in my mind...

This is how I start everyday!  There is nothing better than a great cup of coffee (black of course) and the Times Union (which must be unread...no used newspaper for me)
